Lisa Mitchell was born and raised in a Christian home and realized her need to receive Jesus Christ as her personal Savior at the age of eight. After High School, God led her to Philadelphia Biblical University where she graduated with an Elementary Education degree and soon after married her best friend and future partner in ministry. Scott and Lisa have been blessed with three beautiful children: Lindsay, Ashley and Josiah. Along with the awesome roles of wife and mother, Lisa has been blessed to serve alongside her husband in ministry since 1988. Music has been a significant part of Lisa’s life and ministries. She enjoys song-writing, singing duets with her husband and participating on worship teams, quartets, ensembles, and now, with Heart of Joy. She has also had the privilege of directing both youth and adult choirs including dozens of concerts and musical productions. God has recently opened doors for Lisa as a speaker for women’s events, retreats, and conferences. One of the greatest faith builders was the birth of her first child, Lindsay, who was born pre-maturely, weighing only 1 lb. 13 ounces. It was later discovered that Lindsay has a rare chromosome abnormality which has resulted in significant physical and mental handicaps. This on-going, faith-building experience has provided Lisa with a passionate and powerful story to tell. Trusting God through trials has been a common theme in her talks. Above all, it is Lisa’s desire to help others develop a deeper love relationship with Jesus Christ.
